Alzya Lovengath spoke about ..

Seventh grader Alyza Lovengath spoke about World Stride to be held on the East Coast including Washington DC and New York City next year. She will learn how government works and will be on ABC – Good Morning America.

Danny Byran spoke about National Leadership ..

Danny Bryon spoke about the National Leadership Conference which is a 4 day event to be held in San Jose, CA in the spring of 2012. On his last conference, he learned how to speak before a group and get involved with projects. For any high school student, this is a great educational event.

Girl Scouts given a gift certificate

Girl Scout leader Jennifer Stemple accepts a $150 gift certificate to the Pizza Factory for their participation in the Mayor’s event last spring. The girl scouts appeared on stage for a great presentation.

Madera District Attorney is guest speaker

Fellow Kiwanian and Madera District Attorney Michael Keitz spoke about the budget issues facing his office. More importanly, the State is reducing prison inmate popultation and farming off some imates to the counties. As a result, many low level offenders will have early release or no time served.

Sunflower found ‘growing’ at the new Hawk’s Nest

Ranchos Pizza Factory has converted the Party Room into the Hawk’s Nest for all those parties and club events. We thank the Pizza Factory for allowing Ranchos Kiwanis to meet here each Thursday evening at 6:30 pm except for the first Thurdsay, 6:30 am.

Cross the River Run

Madera Ranchos Kiwanis held the annual Cross the River Run from Woodward Park in Fresno to Cobb Ranch in Madera, California. There were 121 runners who braved a light rain and cool weather. The funds raised from the race participates and generous
sponsors will benefit the children of our community.
